Fredrick Richardson was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter earlier this month for the fatal altercation, which transpired in the parking lot of strip club Body Tap.
Richardson posted a $10,000 (£6,109) bond and was freed from jail this morning, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
He will only return to court if he is indicted on the pending manslaughter chargers against him. Local law enforcement officials previously said that Jewell died from a head injury.
However, they have now stated that preliminary autopsy results suggest his passing may have been related to sickle cell anemia. The Fulton County medical examiner is said to be awaiting further test results before officially announcing the cause of death.
Richardson's attorney Dennis Scheib claimed that his client should not have been jailed until the probe into Jewell's death was completed.
He explained: "He co-operated with the police and they chose to put him in jail… after they knew the man had a medical condition."
Burruss and other members of the Real Housewives cast recently attended the funeral for the 34-year-old.
