Body of 'Housewives' ex 'to be exhumed'

Officials have agreed to exhume the body of Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss's ex-fiancé, according to reports.

Ashley 'AJ' Jewell died on October 2 following a brawl with another man outside an Atlanta strip club.

A medical examiner later listed the cause of death as "physical altercation resulting in sickle cell trait related exertional collapse".

However, according to CNN, relatives of Jewell have requested a second autopsy after disagreeing with the sickle cell finding. Results are expected within the next two weeks.

"I want the public to know my son did not have sickle cell disease, and I hope this next autopsy will prove that my son was murdered," said his father Rev A.B. Jewell Sr.

A spokesperson for the family added: "Whenever a family has to exhume the body of a loved one, it's a difficult, difficult decision to make. But I think it displays a great deal of courage and commitment on the part of this family toward truth and justice."

Frederick Richardson, who was allegedly involved in the incident, has been arrested on a charge of voluntary manslaughter. His attorney previously told TMZ: "It's an unfortunate situation, Frederick is sorry this situation happened and that AJ died."
