The reality star and husband Jason Hoppy welcomed daughter Bryn at a Manhattan hospital on May 8.
Speaking to Kathie Lee and Hoda on Today this morning, she explained: "Jason's brother's name was Bryan and he passed away 19 years ago. They called him Bryn.
"When Jason and I first got together we went to the cemetery and he said, 'Bryn, meet Bethenny'. I said to myself, 'That would be such an amazing name for a little girl, so I kind of pocketed that'. His family is so thrilled because his memory lives on."
She continued to say that she is "so in love" with the newborn, describing her as "unbelievable" and "so cute".
"I'm so in love with her and everything else doesn't matter," she said. "I haven't left the house or bathed very much. I brushed my hair today - it's a disaster! I don't even care, I really don't! I love it!"
Frankel and Hoppy married at the Four Seasons in March. Their wedding can be seen in her upcoming series Bethenny Getting Married?, which premieres June 10 at 10/9c on Bravo.
