The supermodel, who gave birth to son Benjamin earlier this year, had suggested that breastfeeding for at least six months should be made a law.
Speaking to Us Weekly, fellow new mother Frankel - who welcomed daughter Bryn in May - said: "It's the most absurd thing I've ever heard... Breastfeeding is one of the most rewarding experiences, but it isn't for everyone."
Bundchen later explained her remark on her blog, saying that it had come from her "passion and beliefs" about children and what she feels is best for her own child. She added that she understands every mother is different and insisted that she would never judge someone else for having a different opinion.
