The estranged husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong was found dead on Monday by his roommate at his Los Angeles apartment.
The death was later confirmed to have been a suicide, with Russell hanging himself in his bedroom.
Indelicato, who worked with Russell at IT Trading, told US Weekly that the 47-year-old was a good man who was often misrepresented to the public.
He said: "He was a very quiet person. He didn't share anything that was going on in his life... If there were any problems, he wasn't one to sit there and talk about them."
Indelicato added: "He's not the guy that's beating his wife. He loved his family and his wife. I really liked him. His face always had a smile on it."
Taylor was recently reported to be at odds with Russell's family over where to bury him.
