Maloof confirmed last month that her spouse Paul Nassif had decided to file for legal separation.
However, she has now told People that their marriage is not necessarily over yet.
"We're at that point where it's that bump in the road, [but] we're trying to work things out," Maloof said. "I always like to keep a positive attitude and hope that we can resolve our differences."
Maloof added: "It's always about the children and what's in their best interests. I love my children. They come before anything I've ever done. They're healthy, happy kids. I want to keep them that way."
Maloof, who promised "a lot of drama" in the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, concluded that she will "look forward to moving forward in a positive and hopefully happy direction".
Recent reports have claimed that Maloof and Nassif's split was "not a surprise".
