Hilton separated from 'Hills' cast at awards

Paris Hilton and the cast of The Hills were kept apart at last weekend's MTV Movie Awards amid fears that a fight would break out, reports The Mirror.

The socialite, who is dating former show star Doug Reinhardt, is reported to have angered cast members when she branded the scripted reality show "lame and fake" last week.

"Organisers went out of their way to make sure World War Three didn't break out on the night," said an insider.

"Both camps made it clear the girls did not want to be anywhere near each other. Staff got around it by staggering their appearances on the red carpet by half an hour."

MTV bosses are thought to have kept the parties apart to avoid a potential showdown after Hills star Stephanie Pratt demanded that Hilton apologise for her comments.
