According to E! Online, the reality star met quarterback Cutler following his team's pre-season game against the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend.
An insider claimed that they "really hit it off" and the pair were reportedly seen together at the Angels and Kings bar on Monday evening.
However, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, the footballer has since played down reports of a romance although admitted that he had met Cavallari.
"I find it funny," he told the newspaper. "That stuff, you just have to laugh about. I had dinner with her, and that was pretty much about it."
Cavallari recently denied speculation that she is romancing Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.
