Nixon 'to appear in breast cancer ads'

Cynthia Nixon is to appear in an advertisement campaign promoting the awareness of breast cancer.

The Sex and the City star, who revealed last year that she had battled the disease, has aligned herself with organisation Stand Up To Cancer for a public service campaign, E! reports.

The promotion is designed to educate cancer patients and their supporters about the risk of infection while receiving treatment. The tagline for the ads featuring the actress reads: "Some things in life you can't control. Lowering your risk of infection during cancer treatment, you can."

Nurse Jackie's Edie Falco - a fellow breast cancer survivor - will also be featured in the project later this month.
