Harris 'gave Mesnick a laundry basket'

Jillian Harris has revealed that she gave Molly Malaney and Jason Mesnick a laundry hamper as a wedding present.

Harris, who met the newlywed couple on The Bachelor, explained that she and her fiancé Ed Swiderski had left buying a gift until the last minute.

"I went on their registry and there wasn't much left," she told People. "But one thing that was left was a wicker laundry basket and I thought that was really cute."

However, Harris defended her choice of gift and claimed that the couple will have it for a long time.

She said: "Over the holidays we were talking about wedding gifts and my mum and dad received a wicker laundry basket from her sister and brother-in-law for their wedding 30 years ago. They still have it and use it every day.

"So I thought if anything is going to last, and if they are going to be thinking of us every time Jason does laundry, I might as well buy them a laundry basket. On the card I made a joke and said, 'Every time you do laundry you'll be thinking of us'."
