'The Bachelor' couple are still engaged

The Bachelor winner Emily Maynard is said to be still engaged to star Brad Womack despite recent rumours to the contrary.

Maynard's mother has defended the young couple, explaining that although they are still somewhat "on and off", there has been no official end to the relationship.

"They have not officially broken up," Susan Maynard explained to People. "It's still kind of on and off."

Maynard said that she has heard "nothing but good things about Brad", and that the couple are still trying to work each other out.

"I can't say one way or the other," she said, when asked whether she thought the relationship would last. "I think they both have good intentions."

Womack and Maynard became engaged on the season finale of The Bachelor last month, and recently laughed off rumours that they had already split up.
