Earlier this week, the senior Trump further stoked speculation that he will challenge US President Barack Obama in the 2012 election by claiming responsibility for Obama's decision to release his birth certificate.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, Donald Jr insisted that his father's potential campaign could prove to be quite formidable opposition to other Republican candidates and Obama.
"I think it's a great idea," the 33-year-old real estate developer said. "I think our political system is so flawed."
The mogul's son further asserted that the Celebrity Apprentice host could defy the trend of career-politicians dominating the US presidential races.
He explained: "You have people who've done nothing in their lives other than be politicians. They get elected and their only next job is to get re-elected and re-elected and re-elected.
"They don't do anything… [Donald Sr] says what's right. An ordinary politician can't say that because they're going to offend one person in their constituency."
In recent weeks, the elder Trump's potential president run has become the subject of ridicule by celebrities such as Cher, Chris Rock and Robert De Niro.
The Celebrity Apprentice airs Sundays at 9pm ET/8pm CT on NBC.
