Ivanka Trump confirms sex of baby

Ivanka Trump has confirmed that her and husband Jared Kushner's first child will be a girl.

In January, the Celebrity Apprentice star announced on Twitter that she and Kushner - a newspaper publisher - would be welcoming an addition to their family.

"I have been wanting to share some amazing news with you all for some time," she wrote. "I'm pregnant! Jared and I couldn't be more excited."

Trump has now joked to Harper's BAZAAR magazine that she already thinks the girl will be close to her father.

"She'll be a daddy's girl," the former model said. "I have a feeling they are going to gang up on me.

"We have our work cut out for us to ensure that our daughter is grounded and not spoiled."

Discussing the role she believes her own father Donald will play in the child's life, Ivanka added that she doesn't believe he will take a "hands-on" approach as a grandfather.

"He'll be wonderful, but not as a classic, hands-on, 'Let me take the child for the weekend' type," she remarked. "He won't be that kind of grandfather."

When questioned as to his own reaction to Ivanka's pregnancy, Donald told the magazine that he believes his daughter is prepared for the responsibilities of motherhood.

Donald explained: "Ivanka will be an amazing mother... She's totally brilliant. She's got great beauty, but it's really highlighted by the fact that she is a very smart person. It's a combination you don't see very often. [I hope] my granddaughter will be as much like Ivanka as possible."

Ivanka and her husband's first daughter is due later this year.

The season finale of The Celebrity Apprentice airs this Sunday on NBC.
