Donald Trump accuses Jon Stewart of "racist rant" - video

Donald Trump has accused Daily Show host Jon Stewart of racism.

The Celebrity Apprentice star took exception to Stewart joking about sexual harassment allegations made against Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain.

His outrage was reportedly sparked when Stewart imitated Cain's distinctive voice during a Daily Show comedy bit earlier this week.

Trump said in a commentary on his YouTube page: "How come Jon Stewart gets away with a very, very racist rant about Herman Cain? Nobody else could pull that off. Where is Reverend [Jesse] Jackson? Where is Reverend [Al] Sharpton?

"Where are all the critics that if somebody else did it, it would be a disaster?... It's not what he said, but the way he said it. The tone of his voice, the inflection. Unbelievable. Anybody else, [it would be] deep deep trouble."

Trump admitted that he likes Stewart, but feels the Daily Show presenter should be punished for attacking Cain.

"When somebody else says something, even a little bit non-politically correct, they go after them. But when Jon Stewart does a horrible, horrible thing to the African-American community, they leave him alone," he said.

"I like Jon Stewart. I hope they don't take him off the air. But frankly, for this, they probably should, at least for a while."



Stewart responded to Trump's charges on Wednesday's edition of The Daily Show, where he teased that the mogul is in "a unique position" to judge him.

He then played footage of Trump's awkward phrasing in an earlier television interview, where the Celebrity Apprentice host said: "I have a great relationship with the blacks."

Stewart then mocked Trump referring to the African-American community as simply "the blacks" and laughed off the credibility of Trump's criticism.

Trump had considered running for the Republican presidential nomination, but bowed out of the race to focus on the next season of The Celebrity Apprentice.
