Leighton Meester: 'I've had my heart broken'

Leighton Meester has admitted that she recently had her heart broken after splitting from former boyfriend Sebastian Stan.

In an interview with Seventeen magazine, Meester lamented about the end of her romance with Stan.

"I've only had one experience where it was really hard and I was really sad when it ended," the actress said. "I've never really liked anybody before. Even when I would date guys, it would sort of be on the surface and it was always a relief when we broke up."

The Gossip Girl actress stressed that she has not given up on love and hopes to one day start a family with the right man.

She explained: "I want a family someday… and I think there is someone out there for me, but I'm not on some crazy hunt for that right now."

Meester will next appear in Country Strong, which is released on January 7 in US cinemas and on March 4 in the UK.
