'Jersey Shore' star Snooki: 'I've cut down on my drinking'

Jersey Shore star Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi has insisted that she's cut down on drinking alcohol.

Snooki was involved in some of Jersey Shore's most notorious drunken fights in the first few seasons of the show, but has now told The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she rarely gets drunk these days.

"When I was 21, I didn't really care. I would go out like every single weekend and just go crazy," Snooki admitted. "Now that I have a boyfriend and I'm in love and I'm 24, I only have a couple of glasses of wine once a week."

The reality star continued: "It's kind of like, I've matured. I still know how to throw down a couple of shots, [but] I prefer to take it easy… I drink like two Pinots once a week and I'm good."

Snooki recently declared that she often considers leaving Jersey Shore, but remains on the series because she loves her co-stars.

Jersey Shore returns to MTV in the US on January 5, 2012 at 10pm.

Snooki's interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs Thursday.
