Cowell ex 'attacked at Idol taping'

Simon Cowell's former girlfriend Terri Seymour was reportedly attacked at a taping of American Idol last night.

According to TMZ, Seymour was approached by a 33-year-old woman at the LA Live complex who demanded to know if she is dating the reality judge.

It is alleged that the suspect then attacked Seymour and attempted to choke her. She was later booked on felony battery and is being held on $52,700 (£33, 656) bail.

Sources have claimed that Seymour refused medical treatment and was escorted out of the building by three police officers.

Representatives for the British TV presenter have yet to comment.

Cowell and Seymour parted ways last November after a six-year-relationship.
