The singer hit the headlines after simulating sex and kissing a male bandmate during his performance of 'For Your Entertainment' at the ceremony in November.
According to OK, Allen told reporters at Z100's 'Jingle Bell' concert on Friday: "I thought it was Adam being Adam.
"Obviously, he couldn't do that stuff on Idol, and so you're getting to see the real Adam now."
Iraheta added: "As a performer myself, I know that when you're on stage, you give it your all, and that's what he did. I don't think anyone should've been surprised."
