The American Idol star improvised the song during his audition for the show and it became a YouTube sensation.
TMZ reports that the former general is being sued by American King Music over the distribution agreement and expenses related to writing and producing the full-length version of the track.
Platt and his people "failed to take care of Larry's obligations", according to American King representatives.
However, the singer's manager Pinky said that he never signed a deal with American King, but the company believes that it is entitled to 50% of the iTunes music profits.
Platt's camp added that they are prepared for a battle and that "this is a lawsuit over a non-agreement".
