'American Idol' Lauren Alaina: 'I miss Scotty McCreery'

Lauren Alaina has commented that she misses her fellow former American Idol contestant Scotty McCreery.

The 16-year-old country music singer explained that she and McCreery haven't been able to spend much time together recently because they've been promoting their debut solo albums.

"It's really crazy because I haven't seen him much since the show was over, and we practically lived together for four months in a mansion," Alaina told Parade. "He was the only young person that was around, so we became really good friends. We don't really see much of each other anymore, so it's strange."

Alaina also revealed that she's developed a friendship with former Idol winner Carrie Underwood, who she said can relate to the difficulties of becoming famous almost overnight.

She explained: "Sometimes it gets hard being gone from everyone and she's somebody that understands it. All I gotta do is call her or text her and just talk to her for a minute and it makes me feel better because she's been there.

"She's done it and she's very successful and has a great life. It's very comforting to talk to someone who knows exactly how I feel."

Alaina previously admitted that she's had to grow up quickly because of her success on American Idol.
