'American Idol' judges critique President Barack Obama - video

By
American Idol judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have shared their thoughts on President Barack Obama's recent rendition of 'Let's Stay Together'.

President Obama gave a short burst of the Al Green song during an appearance at a fundraiser at the Apollo Theater in New York on January 19 after noting that Reverend Al Green was in the building.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday, Idol judges Jackson and Tyler, and host Ryan Seacrest, were played the clip of the President serenading his audience.

"I think that was great," said Tyler. "Very soulful."

Meanwhile, Jackson joked that current music artists could have some competition, saying: "Prez, yo, listen. What we should do is drop a single on you. You'd be the only president in the world with a record out. Let's go, man!"

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox.
