Karina Smirnoff 'planning destination wedding'

Karina Smirnoff has revealed that she and fiancé Brad Penny are in the middle of planning a "destination wedding".

The Dancing with the Stars professional, who is currently paired with Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio, told Access Hollywood that she hopes her family and friends will enjoy a relaxing vacation after attending the marriage ceremony.

"[We're] definitely [having] a destination wedding because I think we both want to kind of give the family an opportunity to relax and [make] a mini-vacation out of it as well," Smirnoff said. "In terms of big, small, who's coming, who's not, it's still all up in the air."

The five-time US National ballroom dancing champion further explained that planning such an elaborate gala can be exhausting and time-consuming.

"I had no idea this is like a full time job," she joked. "I thought it's like, 'Yay! Getting married! So excited'… And then now, it's like [there's a] list of things you've got to do."

Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays on ABC.
