The Karate Kid actor explained that he believes readers will be fascinated by key moments from his life story, joking to Life & Style magazine that he has already begun thinking of titles.
Macchio said: "I have been talking about it to a few people. I think it's time to tell my story. I don't have a crazy background, but I have some things to tell. I can call it Nice Guys Finish in Fourth Place because that's how far I got on Dancing with the Stars! [I'm] joking! I've been thinking of some titles."
Macchio, who made his screen debut in 1980's Up the Academy, noted that he was inspired to pen a biography by Outsiders co-star Rob Lowe, who released his own memoir, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, earlier this year.
"[Lowe's book] was definitely interesting…The Outsiders was a big deal, and we went through that together," he said.
A publisher for the book has not been announced.
