'Dancing with the Stars' winner JR Martinez invited to US Pentagon

Panetta phoned Martinez - an Iraq war veteran - this week to congratulate him for triumphing over Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake in the Dancing with the Stars final.
Panetta praised Martinez as "testament of the strength and resilience of our wounded warriors" and invited him for a personal meeting in Washington DC during their phone conversation, a Pentagon spokesperson told The AP.
The veteran suffered severe burns on over 40 percent of his body when his military Humvee struck a landmine in 2003.
Martinez has said that competing on Dancing with the Stars has helped him show the world who he really he is and described his ballroom win as one of the great accomplishments of his life.
The All My Children star has also joked that he wants to sleep with his Mirrorball Trophy.
Dancing with the Stars airs on ABC.
