The actress, 67, was close to signing a deal with the show last year but negotiations fell through at the last minute.
She is now starring in US sitcom Welcome To The Captain, in which she plays a 52-year-old actress attempting to make a comeback. The CBS series is her first major TV role after years of cameos.
However, she said she would still be interested in making an appearance on Wisteria Lane if the opportunity presented itself.
She is quoted as saying: "There was talk, but nothing materialised. I've often thought that I would like to play a relative of Eva Longoria, but it's fine."
She added that she was happy to be still finding decent roles in her sixties, saying: "I'm working in this medium. We're all in this together, and I'm really enjoying it."
