The actress, who plays Perdy Hyde-Sinclair, admitted that producers are working hard to build up support across the whole of the country.
"I can't understand why the show isn't more popular in the South of England," Georgia told The Sun. "It's strange as the radio soap The Archers - which is based in the countryside like Emmerdale - is hugely popular in the South.
"Emmerdale is really popular in the North - where the audience is very loyal - Scotland and Ireland. We'll have to keep trying to win over more viewers in the South."
Georgia is currently involved in a storyline which sees Perdy trying to prove that her estranged husband Grayson (Christopher Villiers) framed Matthew King (Matt Healy) for the murder of Linda Thorson's character Rosemary. Perdy is also worried that she will not be able to keep the surrogate baby being carried by Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward).
"I've filmed a fantastic scene in which Katie destroys evidence which could prove Grayson's guilt and I had to chase Sammy with a poker!" Slowe explained. "I was quite concerned that I might hurt Sammy but it was all choreographed for safety reasons."
