S01E08: Jonathan hears a few home truths

During a meeting with Nancy, the writers are told that the Christian Viewers' Association has made a complaint and were particularly offended by episode seven. Nancy has invited the CVA in for a meeting as she believes the show is pushing the boundaries and they will have to tone it down.

Jonathan stirs this up and agrees with Nancy that all staff should be subject to criticism. As a result, the writers decide to turn the tables on Jonathan and reveal a few home truths about his work ethic. The meeting with the Christian Viewers' Association ends in disaster, although Jonathan impresses the team by passionately defending them.

Tom steps his flirting with Kelly up a gear and Jonathan, thinking that Tom is shallow, comments they are very alike. Tom is horrified that Jonathan thinks they are similar in any way and sets to work on writing one of the most emotional scenes to date in order to prove him wrong.
