Having arrived back in Shieldinch, alcoholic Fi Kydd sinks into a deep depression and can’t stand the sight of former business partner Archie Buchanan, who caused her so much grief in the past. Worse for wear, Fi catches up with her old pal Shirley and tries to kiss her. Later, when Archie - or Douglas as he is now known - offers her another drink, things turn ugly with dramatic consequences for Fi.

Elsewhere, Raymond goes on a very awkward date, believing first of all that he has been stood up and then that his love interest, Sharon, isn’t interested. However, when it turns out later there has been a misunderstanding between the two, they get on like a house on fire. Jamie Hunter seems to be developing a crush on Iona McIntyre and buys her a lovely piece of jewellery, much to her surprise.

And Tina offers Scott a shoulder to cry on when he seems to be feeling down.
