Ian questions Steven about his sexuality

It's Jane's birthday but the atmosphere at the Beales' is subdued. Jane's touched when Bobby gives her a card which reads 'mum' but she's puzzled when she opens Christian's card which reads 'Ask Stacey'. She lies to everyone about what it says.

Jane catches up with Stacey and asks her why she split up with Steven. Stacey doesn't give much away but what she does is enough for Jane. She rifles through Steven's room and finds a men's bodybuilding magazine – it's further evidence that Christian was telling the truth. Ian decides to have a talk with Steven, who's in denial over his sexuality.

Later, somewhere in a faraway caravan, Steven sits talking to someone…

The Slaters are at a loss as to what to do with Sean and lock him in his room. Mo thinks that it'd be a waste to flush the drugs, while Charlie hits the roof with her. Jean, meanwhile, still can't believe that her little boy would be involved with drugs. While the family argues, Sean climbs out of his window and onto the pavement below. He calmly walks through the front door and pours the drugs down the sink. Jean's ecstatic – what a responsible boy…

Stacey quizzes Sean over where the drugs came from, while Jean's back at home, confused as to where all the baking power could have gone – she could have sworn the tin was full. In the park, Sean's selling a wrap of drugs to a passer-by, while Stacey feels the weight of Jean's cake – something went wrong.

Elsewhere, Zainab sends Bianca the receipt for her flower boxes; Peggy helps Ben prepare for his dance exam but he has a close call when Phil nearly catches him in the act; Whitney tries to steal a top from Stacey's stall but Mo catches her in the act; Phil decides to take Ben paintballing on Tuesday – the day of Ben's dance exam; and Pat returns to almost-peaceful surroundings.
