Street's Sunita to find new lover

By
Single Coronation Street shopgirl Sunita Parekh is to begin a romance with Irish charmer Ciaran McCarthy.

Sunita falls for him after he begs her to help him patch up his relationship with former best friend Peter Barlow, according to the Daily Star.

Peter has shunned Ciaran after he attempted to break up his relationship with fiancé Shelley, but with Sunita's help, the pair make amends over a bottle of malt, behind Shelley's back.

As a thankyou, Ciaran treats Sunita to a candlelit dinner for two. One thing leads to another, and the pair end up sharing a night of passion. Ciaran begs Sunita to see him again, but when she agrees, Shelley walks in on them in a compromising position.

Shelley is understandably furious that her best friend is sleeping with the man who tried to ruin her relationship, and accuses Ciaran of only going with Sunita to cause more harm between her and Peter.

Sunita snaps however, and tells Shelley that Ciaran is seeing her because he likes her.

"It's great for Sunita to finally get a bit of romance on the Street," said Shobna Gulati, who plays Sunita. "She's been chasing her boss Dev Alahan for ages but he doesn't see her in that way. I really hope that this relationship will last for her. The last one was Duggie Ferguson and he fell prey to the local serial killer Richard Hillman.

"The scenes with Keith [Duffy, alias Ciaran] were great fun to film and I'm sure many women in the country will be very envious of me. Who knows if the relationship will last? But if know Sunita, she'll already be planning her wedding dress!" Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
