'EastEnders' plans 'Who's pregnant?' storyline

One of three possible Albert Square residents will discover they are pregnant in a new EastEnders storyline.

The outcome is being kept a close secret by bosses, but the names of the potential mothers-to-be were revealed as Kat Slater, Sonia Jackson and Sam Mitchell.

Kat could be pregnant by the Square's resident Doc Anthony Trueman (whom she is about to break up with), Sonia by her dead fiancé Jamie Mitchell or Sam by her one-time boyfriend, evil villain Trevor Morgan (also dead).

"This is going to be a huge shock to the pregnant woman - it's the last thing she imagined would happen. It's her worst possible nightmare and totally unexpected," a spokesman for the soap told Inside Soap magazine.

"This girl has made mistakes before and wanted to start afresh in 2003. But now she's in trouble again and she's going to be distraught when she finds out, as this will have major repercussions on her life."

A report last year concerning Trevor's exit from the soap hinted that Sam would be left torn over whether to have an abortion after discovering she was carrying his child.
