Doctor Trueman is to wave goodbye to Albert Square later this month, actor Nicholas Bailey has confirmed.
Bailey is to leave the soap after more than two-and-a-half years to try his hand at TV production and writing, but the door will be left open for his character to return.
"I've had an incredible time working with a fantastic team of professionals and have made some solid friendships. Although I won't be giving up acting, I feel it's time to pursue other dreams as well," he said today.
"Producer Louise Berridge has offered to leave the door open for me on the show, which I'm very happy about as I would never rule out the possibility of a return in the future."
