The Ferreiras, a new family of Goan descent, are moving into Albert Square next week, the BBC has announced today.
The first appearance of the five-strong family will be on Tuesday, June 3 at 19:30 on BBC One. Louise Berridge, executive producer of EastEnders, said in March: "After a search which has taken more than two years, and in which we have met literally hundreds of people, we have finally found the perfect cast for our dynamic new family."
Dan Ferriera is played by Dalip Tahil, Kareena Ferreira by Pooja Shah, Ash Ferreira by Raji James, Ronny Ferriera by Ray Panthaki and Adi Ferreira by Ameet Chana.
Their first appearance promises to stir interest in the Square, with the Square's residents receiving an "unexpected welcome" upon arriving at the Ferreiras' housewarming party.
