Lisa Fowler returns to the Square

The BBC has confirmed a report printed in The Sun today that Lucy Benjamin will return to EastEnders later this year.

Lucy, who plays Phil Mitchell's former flame Lisa Fowler in the BBC soap, was last seen on a Spanish clifftop in March. After mentally taunting her, Phil took their baby daughter Louise and returned to the UK, leaving Lisa to come to terms with what had happened.

Now she'll be back this summer, the newspaper claims, with her sights set on getting back Louise. The new storyline could trigger Phil's departure from the Square (actor Steve McFadden previously announced plans to take a year out).

"I couldn’t believe it when I got a call to ask if I would return to Walford," Benjamin said. "I didn’t think Lisa would give up baby Lou without one last fight!"
