Three former stars are returning to Coronation Street this autumn, according to The Sun today.
Julie Goodyear (Bet Gilroy), Bev Callard (Liz McDonald) and Charlie Lawson (Jim McDonald) will all appear in a special episode of the soap filmed on location in Blackpool, which "could lead to the characters returning full-time."
In the episode, Jim will escape from prison while Bet is visiting Liz at the seaside. Jim is currently serving time for the manslaughter of drug dealer Jez Quigley. He remarried Liz at the start of his sentence in a prison ceremony.
“The aim is to be the No1 soap throughout the autumn," a source told the newspaper. "Julie Goodyear is a Corrie legend and Bev and Charlie were big names alongside her in the 90s — it’s a fantastic move to bring them all back together.???
The three have been signed back on an initial six-week return.
