'Bad Girls' actress joins Corrie
Peters will play the role of Fiz's mother Cilla Brown in the soap, who takes up a job as barmaid at Rovers rival pub the Weatherfield Arms.
"Les is like a born-again teenager with Cilla and becomes very defensive of her," a source told the newspaper. He believes she is definitely the woman for him and acts the perfect gentleman with her in an effort to be a romantic.
"He starts to behave so unlike Les by opening doors for her and insisting they link arms whenever they are out together. But just when everything seems to be running smoothly there is a bolt from the blue."
On discovering that Les is dating her mum, Fiz - who despises Cilla for abandoning her as a child - tells him some home truths.
"Fiz just simmers and simmers as their relationship gets stronger before hitting Les with all her mum's background," the insider added. "She tells him that she was, and still is, a hooker. She's also a druggie who in the past has sold her furniture to get a quick fix. He's trying to take all that in when she reveals her mum's a thief as well who always steal from the men in life.
"There are some great comic lines in the scenes. On one occasion Fiz warns Les to lock all his rare Status Quo records away just in case she tries to nick them. And she says that when her mother worked as a stripper, her professional name was Lulu, spelt L double O, L double O because her career went down the toilet years ago."
Les refuses to hear anything bad about his new love however and accuses Fiz of lying.
Peters has already begun filming and will appear on screen within weeks.
