Fagin from the Oliver! musical has joined the EastEnders cast in a guest role.
Actor Ron Moody, 79, will play an old sparring partner of Jim Branning in episodes to be screened through December.
"EastEnders is... the most successful ship on television - and I enjoy a nice cruise," said Moody. "My kids are very excited that I'm going to be in Albert Square as they watch it religiously."
Aside from starring in both the big screen and stage versions of Oliver!, Moody has also appeared in movie versions of David Copperfield and Othello.
