Jack Ryder joins 'The Archers'

Jack Ryder will join the cast of BBC Radio 4's long-running soap The Archers, reports The Guardian.

The former EastEnders actor has been cast as Ryan, a character with a connection to Ambridge's resident vet Alistair Lloyd.

BBC Radio 4 controller Mark Damazer said of Ryder's involvement: "He is coming to join The Archers for a while, for about three months, and will start later this month."

Ryder separated from his wife Kym Marsh, star of Coronation Street and formerly of pop band Hear'Say, in March.
