Big 'EastEnders' funeral planned
An old Eastenders favourite will be laid to rest in the coming months, according to the News of the World today.

Mark Fowler, played by Todd Carty, finally loses his lifetime battle against Aids and is given a good old East-End send off.

Characters from past and present, including Leslie Grantham (Den) and Leonard Fenton (Dr Legg), all attended filming which took place at North Watford Cemetry nearby to the Borehamwood studios where Eastenders filming takes place.

Mark was last seen in the BBC soap leaving Walford on his motorbike. His departure came after his long and arduous battle against HIV, which he caught from his first wife Gill.

Carty told the newspaper: "As I'm no longer in the show it's good to have closure for both the character and me."
