Hollyoaks set for 'biggest ever soap massacre'

Fourteen members of the Hollyoaks cast are facing the axe as part of the "biggest massacre in soap history," the Sunday Mirror reports today.

Elize Du Toit, who plays Izzy Davies, and Daniel Hyde, aka Scott Anderson are among those up for the chop.

Others include Darren Bransford (Nick O'Connor) and on-screen flatmate Max Brown (Kristian Hargreaves), Mikyla Dodd (Chloe Bruce) and Andrew Newton (Robbie Flynn).

Most of the Hunter family will be cleared out, including Gemma Atkinson (Lisa Hunter), Alex Carter (Lee Hunter), Katherine Dow-Blyton (Sally Hunter) and John Graham Davies (Les Hunter).

Also on the block are most of the younger cast, including Jamie Luke (Norman Sankofa), Kelly Greenwood (Zara Morgan), Ben Gerrard (Cameron Clark) and Helen Noble (Abby Davies).

An insider told the newspaper that some of the actors had already been told that their contracts would not be renewed later this year.

A major and explosive storyline is expected to kill off a large number of the characters in one go.
