Jodi Albert quits 'Hollyoaks'
Hollyoaks actress Jodi Albert will quit the show later this year, the Daily Star reports today.

The 20-year-old, who plays downtrodden Debbie Dean, is the latest cast member to exit the show, following news at the weekend that a massive fourteen actors are to get the axe.

Albert's boyfriend, Westlife member Kian Egan, said that she was rejecting a deal to stay with the show in order to further her acting career. "I want her to leave, I don't want her to get typecast," said Egan, 23.

"Her contract is up for renewal in October and she will give it up then. It's all very well being in Hollyoaks, it's a great programme, but she is not allowed to do anything else. Everything they do has to be passed through the soap's bosses and we are both a bit fed up with it."

Albert's character is currently involved in a storyline which will see her onscreen boyfriend Dan go on trial for the murder of serial killer Tony.
