Gaffney returns to 'EastEnders'

Ex-EastEnders regular Dean Gaffney will make a sensational comback to Walford later in the year, The Sun reports today.

Gaffney left the BBC soap last year after being axed by producers. His character Robbie Jackson was packed off to India with his girlfriend Nita, who was also axed.

Viewers will see Robbie return just in time to see his sister Sonia (actress Natalie Cassidy) marry Martin Fowler, in what producers hope to be the wedding of the year.

“He is very excited. He starts filming in a few weeks and will be part of a big storyline," a show insider said. "After ten years in the show he was disappointed to leave. But he’s really pleased to be going back to Albert Square and seeing his old pals. He particularly missed working with Natalie."

Although he will only appear in a couple of episodes, the storyline could prompt his permanent return.
