Voting opens for All About Soap Bubble awards
Published Tuesday, Feb 17 2009, 15:33 GMT | By Kris Green

The awards, which celebrate the light-hearted and quirkier aspects from the world of soap, include nominations from all major UK and Australian serial dramas.
Across the eight categories, Emmerdale and Coronation Street each notched up ten nominations, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks secured five, while Neighbours and Home and Away have one apiece.
Corrie's Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) and Walford's Kara Tointon (Dawn Swann) are among those receiving nods for the 'Celeb Style' award, while Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Nicola de Souza (Nicola Wheeler) have been nominated for 'Bad Boy' and 'Bad Girl'.
Hollyoaks' Niall Rafferty (Barry Sloane) and Weatherfield's Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) are both in the running for the 'Killer Secret' trophy and the 'Tearjerker' category includes contenders such as Wellard's passing in EastEnders and baby Daniel's cot death in Emmerdale.
The remaining categories include 'I'm A Survivor' for the bravest soul in soap, 'Fight Club' for the best punch-up and 'Fatal Attraction' for the most scandalous affair of the heart.
Speaking of the awards, magazine editor Johnathon Hughes said: "The Bubbles are a little different to other soap awards as they celebrate the more light-hearted and quirky moments of our favourite shows.
"We reward the soap events that got everyone talking – those water cooler moments we all remember, from Tony’s fatal stag night in Coronation Street, Roxy’s baby bombshell over Christmas dinner at the Queen Vic, Hollyoaks’ McQueen clan trapped in an exploding church by nutty Niall, Debbie and Jasmine’s brutal murder of Emmerdale’s Shane, to the tragic death of Walford’s Wellard!"
