An old face set to return to the Street

Ray Langton - actor Neville Buswell - Corrie's 'original love rat', is set to sensationally return to Coronation Street after a 26-year abscence, the News of the World reports today.

Corrie bosses are reportedly in talks with Buswell, who is flying into Manchester today, in the hopes of clinching a deal with him this week.

Buswell was last seen on the Street in 1978 before escaping the pressures of Weatherfield and wife Dierdre. "He was the original bad boy of the Street. He left Dierdre heartbroken after his affair and she hasn't set eyes on him for 26 years," an insider told the paper.

Writers hope Buswell's return will send shockwaves through the Street, especially when he learns how his daughter Tracy has grown up to be a chip off the old block.

The insider continued: "[Deirdre] would never be with Ken if Ray hadn't left, so there's plenty of scope for more heartache..."
