Coronation Street came top in the soap ratings last night, pulling in 9.11m (40.3%) in its 7.30pm slot.

The ITV2 repeat of the episode, in which Ted paid Martha a visit on her barge, added a further 222k (2.3%) at 11pm.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's outing, which saw Eli and Marlon trying to persuade Jasmine to return to the village, was slightly up on last week, averaging 7.13m (33.8%).

Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks pulled in 1.77m (8.6%) at 6.30pm, while its timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 added 124k (0.6%). E4's first look episode took 589k (3.1%) and its E4+1 screening added 122k (0.6%).

Last night's instalment of Neighbours, in which Harold struggled to deal with the recent revelation about his health, brought in 1.56m (10.1%) at 5.30pm and its 7pm repeat on Fiver added 292k (1.5%).

Home and Away's 6.30pm transmission was watched by 1.16m (6.2%). Fiver's first look at 6.30pm was the most-watched multichannel programme of the day, attracting 720k (4%).
