Soaps Ratings Roundup: March 6

ITV soap Coronation Street won the early evening soaps battle on Friday night as 9.07m (40.8%) and 8.33m (35.8%) tuned in to see Peter Barlow's return to Weatherfield.

The final two instalments of the week, which aired at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1, were later repeated on digital sister channel ITV2, averaging 160k (2.7%) at midnight and 160k (3.6%) half an hour later.

The week's final visit to EastEnders, which saw Callum leave Walford, delivered 8.7m (37.8%) in its usual 8pm slot. The BBC Three repeat at 10pm further added 510k (2.9%).

Emmerdale's transmission, in which Jimmy exposed Nicola's money grabbing intentions, took 7m (33.3%) at 7pm.

Doctors' daily 1.45pm screening called 'Little White Lies' attracted 1.73m (25.1%).

Meanwhile, Channel 4's Hollyoaks put in 1.52m (7.7%) in its regular 6.30pm timeslot.

E4's first look logged 728k (3.9%) at 7pm, making it the most watched multichannel programme of the day. E4+1's timeshift screening added a further 134k (0.7%).

Five's episode of Neighbours, which saw Bridget resolve to leave Erinsborough for a while, was seen by 1.61m (10.8%) in its 5.30pm slot. Fiver's 7pm repeat added 270k (1.4%).

Summer Bay soap Home and Away grabbed 1.03m (5.8%) at 6pm on Five, while Fiver's first look interested 638k (3.6%) at 6.30pm.
