Last night's Platt-centric episodes of Coronation Street attracted the most viewers in the early evening soaps battle.

The Manchester soap's two outings, which saw Leanne leave Weatherfield and a torrent of secrets uncovered in the Platt household, averaged 9.8m (41.9%) and 9.6m (41%) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm respectively.

The repeats between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on ITV2 added a further 303k (2.2%) and 271k (3%).

Meanwhile, EastEnders' instalment at 8pm, in which Danielle threatened Stacey after finding out that she betrayed her confidence, was seen by 9.26m (37.9%). BBC Three's repeat further added 693k (4%).

Emmerdale's screening at 7pm attracted 7.29m (33.5%).

Doctors' 1.35pm transmission, entitled 'The Two Leo Beckfords' logged 1.86m (25.8%).

Hollyoaks' usual 6.30pm episode on Channel 4 drew 1.75m (8.5%), while E4's first look was watched by 745k (3.8%) at 7pm.

Five's Australian hour saw 1.57m (10.1%) tune in for Neighbours at 5.30pm, while Home and Away put in 1.12m (6%) at 6pm.

Fiver's first look Home and Away at 6.30pm, which saw Kirsty return to the Bay, logged 749k (4.1%). Neighbours' repeat transmission added a further 299k (1.5%) at 7pm.
