EastEnders led the field in the soap ratings last night, drawing 8.64m (38%) in its usual 7.30pm Tuesday evening slot.

The later BBC Three repeat of the episode, which featured an over-excitable Manda meeting Peggy for the first time in years, added a further 733k (4.2%) at 10pm.

Meanwhile, Maisie and Val's attempts to persuade Val to sell the Woolpack to Mark in Emmerdale were seen by 7.06m (34.3%) at 7pm.

Doctors' offering, titled 'Road To Recovery', averaged 1.82m (24.4%) in its 1.45pm slot on BBC One.

Last night's instalment of Hollyoaks, in which Tony told Jacqui their relationship was over for good, averaged 1.58m (8%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4. Its timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 further added 104k (0.5%).

E4's first look transmission, meanwhile, put in 545k (3%) at 7pm.

Five's screening of Neighbours at 5.30pm pulled in 1.41m (9.6%), while the 7pm repeat on Fiver added 306k (1.7%).

Home and Away took 1.07m (5.9%) at 6pm on Five, while its multichannel first look outing on Fiver attracted 698k (4%).
