Grant Mitchell is set for a "sensational" comeback to Albert Square, the Daily Star claims today.
The character - played by actor Ross Kemp - will apparently be back to take on resident mobster Andy Hunter after his sister Sam Mitchell attempts to kill herself.
Sam (Kim Medcalf) tries to end it all when she discovers that her lover Andy has conned her out of all of her businesses and is now the owner of the Queen Vic.
Her cry for help prompts the return of Grant - as well as their battleaxe mum Peggy (Barbara Windsor) - who then team up to stop Andy from selling the Vic.
"Grant and Peggy are determined to get revenge on Andy Hunter, and there's no way they'll allow him to sell their pub," a source told the newspaper. "It's going to be a gripping storyline. Grant is back and he's a man on the edge."
