Coronation Street was the most watched soap yesterday, attracting 9.65m (42%) and 10.13m (41.6%) for its two Monday night episodes at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

The ITV2 repeats, which saw David losing his temper with Gail and temporarily leaving Weatherfield, added a further 268k (3.3%) and 254k (4.3%) between 11.15pm and 12.15am.

Peggy's collapse in EastEnders, meanwhile, attracted 9.02m (37.9%) at 8pm. BBC Three's 10pm repeat added 600k (3.5%)

Emmerdale's outing averaged 6.94m (32.7%) at 7pm.

Channel 4's Hollyoaks put in its highest ratings in a month last night for its traditional 6.30pm edition, averaging 1.92m (9.7%). The timeshift repeat on Channel 4+1 added a further 123k (0.6%).

E4's first look interested 647k (3.4%) at 7pm.

Doctors' screening, titled 'Skin Deep', was seen by 1.65m (25.4%).

Five's instalment of Neighbours, which saw Rebecca rejecting Paul again, put in 1.5m (10.8%) at 5.30pm. Five's 7pm repeat added 217k (1.1%).

Home and Away's screening on Five at 6pm, in which Rachel discovered that Tony is having 'an affair', logged 1.17m (6.7%), while Fiver's first look at 6.30pm brought in 628k (3.6%).
